[Help] Error activate: drone version not obtained in sdk 3.3 ROS

When i I try to launch the sdk.launch this error appears:

STATUS/1 @ init, L45: ...Serial started successfully.
[ERROR] [1497959030.314131388]: Failed to set up port for timed read.
This usually means the serial port is not correctly set up;
however on a small number of machines this error can come up
even when the port is correctly set up. If you are absolutely certain
your connections are okay, try commenting out L77-L89 in file dji_sdk_node.cpp
and build again.

I am commenting out those lines because my port is correctly setted up and the I get this other error:

STATUS/1 @ init, L45: ...Serial started successfully.
ERROR/1 @parseDroneVersionInfo, L368: Drone version was not obtained. Please restart theprogram or call getDroneVersion

ERROR/1 @ getDroneVersion, L913: Drone version not obtained! Please do notproceed.
Check if your serial connection is okay, and if your activation status is okay.

ERROR/1 @ functionalSetUp, L110: Failed to initialize Version! Please exit.
[ERROR] [1497959254.224701157]: Vehicle initialization failed

I tried everything, so I'm sure that there's no problems of set up...
Can anyone tell me if there's an error with the code or it's a hardware problem.
Thank you

I'm having the same problem!  What OS are you using?

I commented out the code just like you did and I'm getting the same exact errors ("Drone version not obtained").  Did DJI test v3.3 before they released it or are we doing something wrong?

Now I'm not getting that "try commenting out lines ..." message, so apparently something changed (but what??).  However, it's still not getting the drone version.

When I try
  1. screen /dev/ttyUSB0 230400
Copy the code
nothing shows up... does this indicate a problem?

@Chris - We did indeed test the 3.3 before releasing it :-) let's try and debug your issue. Can you respond to the things mentioned on this Github issue tracking the OP's original question?

https://github.com/dji-sdk/Onboard-SDK-ROS/issues/98

The screen command output should definitely show up something, so there's some configuration on the serial port or the drone that's not correctly set up. Let's continue this conversation on the same Github  issue to help organize this discussion better for the community.

Thanks Rohit for pointing that out! I'm going to respond in the Github shortly.
